Do you want to make money doing something you love and are passionate about – like helping people and making a positive impact?

I know. It sounds to good to be true, right? It doesn’t have to be. Online coaching, consulting and digital service based businesses are exploding and will continue to do so for many years to come. If you’re thinking, there are too many coaches already and not enough room for me. Or, I’m no “expert” so I can’t possibly coach someone else let alone have them pay me. Keep reading.

Have you heard of the “10% rule”?  This rule teaches us that you only need to have a 10% edge over your students or clients. Meaning, you don’t have to be an “expert”, have all these degrees, certifications or credentials – you just need to be able to teach your clients to do something or complete something faster and/or more efficiently. To help them solve a problem or meet a desirable outcome better and easier than if they were to simply try on their own.

Literally, you can teach someone how to knit a blanket if they don’t know how. You could teach dog owners how to train their dogs if they don’t know how on their own. You can teach a yoga instructor how to start a yoga business & studio. I could on and on. There a thousand ways you can take your expertise and monetize it by teaching others how.

Not to mention the 101 ways you can position yourself as a “coach” or consultant.

Let me name a few: life coach, mindset coach, confidence coach, accountable coach, personal development coach, healer / empath, relationship coach, divorce coach, health coach, dietician, mental health coach, business coach / consultant, marketing consultant, career coach, executive coach, parenting coach, ADHD coach, writing coach, beauty coach…I could go on and on but these are the coaching niches that tend to make a lot of money. There are other specialty niches that are very viable depending what problem you are solving specifically.

Now, what is the catch? There is no catch per se but there is some work and investment involved for sure. You will need to learn how to start an online business which requires more than just a pretty website and you actually don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on a website in the beginning to get your first few clients.

You will need to design an “offer” so get clear on what you’re selling exactly – what problem do you solve and who are you going to serve specifically? You will need a “go to market” action plan on how to actually get your offer in front of the right people (your target audience). Lastly, you will need to learn how to sell your offer and there is a precise process for this. Essentially, on a high level, these are the 3 steps to starting making money at coaching. It’s not complicated and you can do it fast.
